In Japan, PSO2 is readying up for the end of Episode 6 while in America we are still playing Episode 3. and Japan are on different Episode numbers since the game is obviously further along over there. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a massive update that will release in lieu of a new episode after Episode 6. Was this an expansion? A new game entirely? Turns out, a bit of both, actually. However, what was revealed during the event was something different than what we have been playing: Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. Xbox owners have been able to play Phantasy Star Online 2 in North America for a bit of a while now so seeing the game pop up during the Xbox Games Showcase didn’t come as too much of a surprise.
